At Ruh Care, some of our therapists hold the title Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)—but what does that mean for you as a client?

A Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) is someone who has completed their graduate-level training and is in the final stages of becoming fully licensed. They are actively providing therapy while working under regular supervision from a fully licensed therapist. This ensures you receive high-quality care that is both compassionate and clinically sound.

To become a fully Registered Psychotherapist in Canada, therapists must:

  • Complete a Master’s-level education in psychotherapy or a related field

  • Gain extensive supervised clinical experience

  • Pass a registration exam with their regulatory body

Those with the “Qualifying” designation have already completed their Master’s program and are now gaining hands-on experience with oversight, support, and clinical supervision from seasoned professionals. At Ruh Care, we ensure our Qualifying therapists are clinically competent and grounded in spiritually and culturally responsive care.
