When scheduling an appointment with a Ruh Care therapist, you have the option of either a phone call or a video call. If you choose a phone call, the therapist will initiate the call directly to your phone. Ruh Care also provides a comprehensive HIPAA-compliant video call solution, empowering therapists to conduct both individual and family/couple virtual sessions with ease.
This article guides the best practices for joining a video call either through Ruh Care with your therapist.
Best Practices Before Your Video Call
Before your scheduled call time, ensure you've completed the following:
If this is your first call, make sure you complete your intake forms
Log into your client account
Make sure you have a strong internet connection
Test your camera/microphone to ensure they're enabled
Choose a quiet and well-lit location
Joining a Ruh Care Video Call Session
Upon logging into your dashboard, you'll notice a 10-minute countdown announcement dedicated to your upcoming appointment. Within this notification, prominently displayed in the top-right corner, you'll find a "Join Appointment" button.
You can't join a session more than 10 minutes before the scheduled start time.
Alternatively, you can view and join a video call from your Appointments page:
Click on "Appointments" on the left-hand navigation.
Use the "Join Appointment" button in the countdown banner or the "Join Call" link in the upcoming appointment details.
If you do not see any appointments listed in the Upcoming Appointments tab, it indicates that no sessions are currently scheduled. Should this occur, please reach out to your therapist through the platform's chat.
Joining a Zoom Video Call Session
Our direct integration with HIPAA-compliant Zoom comes with several features and capabilities designed to create engaging video calls. These features are automatically included within Ruh Care's direct integration with Zoom.
By default, this integration is active for your account. You do not need a personal Zoom account or subscription, and you do not need to take any action to enable Zoom.
Download the Zoom App
If you've set up your session as a Zoom call, you will be prompted to download the Zoom app. You won't need to create an account or sign in, only to have the app installed on your device.
In the interest of time when launching/joining a Zoom call for the first time, please download the Zoom app in advance.

How to use Zoom on a Google Chromebook (for Chromebook users)
You will see "Click to Join" to click to start your webinar. If you have a recurring / repeating appointment via Zoom, Ruh Care creates unique Zoom links for every appointment for HIPAA compliance.
If you fail to access the meeting link, you can contact your therapist and ask them to send it to you.
